Tour of the Petit Étang de Biscarrosse

This hike in the Landes region is just a stone’s throw from Biscarrosse. It’s a short trail with a few sandy sections. This route takes you around the Petit Étang de Biscarrosse on shady paths. Follow the cycle path westwards for about 1 km. Then turn left off the cycle path. Now follow the path along the canal to the bridge. Use the bridge to cross the canal, then take the first path on the right. Follow this path along the pond to the left, reaching a fork in the road. Keep to the right and continue along the pond at a distance.

Then turn left, ignoring the dead-end road on the right. Continue to the next junction. Keep to the right, then do the same at the next junction to stay as close as possible to the pond, overlooking it. Reach the edge of the road. Turn right onto the cycle path and continue along the Canal du Littoral des Landes. This tour can be taken from the equestrian center on the beach road.

Tour of Lac d’Hossegor

The departure point for this hike on the moors is the Quai du Bourret parking lot. Head west, passing a restaurant on your right to reach the banks of the Canal d’Hossegor. Turn right and pass under the Pont Notre-Dame. Continue straight ahead, skirting the canal on your left. Pass under the Pont Paul Lahary and the lakeside Plage du Parc. Follow the lake on your left to its end, and return to the opposite shore, still as close to the lake as possible.

Pass under the Pont Paul Lahary again and follow the canal to the Pont Notre-Dame. Go up to the bridge, then turn left to cross the canal. On the other side, descend to the left to reach the canal bank. Turn left and pass under the bridge. Immediately turn left to return to the parking lot by the opposite route.
